$5.00 charge to honor Veterans at Grand Dominion by Del Webb

Can somebody explain why there is a $5.00 charge at Grand Dominion by Del Webb to honor veterans?

There is no fee charged by the Navy for any of the units from Great Lakes to perform.

Who ever heard of charging to honor veterans?

Why is Acres cutting grass with frost on it?

At 8:00 this morning members of the Acres Group crew were observed cutting grass in areas within the community having heavy frost.

 

 

Why stay off a frosted lawn?

When a lawn is frosted, the grass blades are literally frozen. Any activity on the lawn while it is frosty, like walking on it or mowing it, will "break" the grass blade and damage the lawn. It will recover eventually, but it may not fully bounce back until the following spring.

How difficult would it be to schedule other activities for the Acres Group work crew such as weeding or trimming until the frost burns off?

The lack of internal supervision of the Acres Group is clear. Those in charge are either inept or simply do not care. This makes one wonder why we have a Community Association Manager for Grand Dominion by Del Webb if not to oversee the entire community and protection of property, not just Lakeside Lodge?

It may come as a surprise to some, but many of those living in Grand Dominion are on a fixed income. Another 6% increase will be a serious hardship for them.

A tidbit from the October 17, 2014 Weekly Manager's Update:

"The Board of Directors did approve the proposed budget, with a 6% increase in assessments, to be mailed to the ownership in advance of the November 18^th meeting with the Finance Committee.  They also discussed the options for how the increase could be charged, either a flat percentage across all lot types, or by a flat dollar amount.  The Board voted to charge the increase by a flat percentage.  The proposed budget mailing is going out today – keep an eye out in your mailbox for this early next week." 

6% increase in assessments!

If that doesn't get your attention nothing will.
